hyein seo // SIRENS SS20

get to know fave womens streetwear brand hyein seo // the belgium based brand was formed back in 2014 by South Korean designer hyein seo (figures) // Seo went to antwerp academy of fine arts whilst there she became known to New York Vfiles team and won an award from British Fashion Council for emerging designer //

the brand has pushed streetwear boundaries from its start with the “FEAR” collection for V files and been experimenting ever since //

the SIRENS SS20 collection i particularly love // an eclectic mixture of 90s inspired punk with ethereal goth chic //

also can we have a moment of appreciation for the hair and accessories styling // that is FIRE // i want to be an pixie now //

if youre in london you can find certain pieces stocked in Browns and machine-a // yes please !!

kith fall 19 rtw ‘Kith Air’

collaborations gallore at the Kith fall 2019 ready-to-wear show in New York // designer and founder ronnie fieg served up no less than 95 looks and i pretty much love every one!! //

the usual street style staples were amongst the fits // double denim && casual tracksuits && camo print and of course the faithful autumn flannel shirts // though i hate winter i i love the dark colours and outerwear //

even the invitations oozed exclusivity… an enormous custom matte black bottle and leather case designed for the tequila company don julio //

winnie harlow walked in a cyleshorts bodysuit taken the MISBHV x kith second season collab // a few other experimental knitwear engineering pieces littered the show // the adidas terrex x kith outerwear and functional pieces were also a highlight //

favourite looks below !! hard to pick although im less keen on the disney collab pieces //

effortlessly cool streetwear // NYFW kicked off with a bang //

brand watch A-COLD-WALL*

a-cold-wall* has gained an immense following since its birth just a few years ago // london based founder and designer Samuel Ross formed the brand in 2015 and has always used the platform to forward UK culture fusing high end with urban street style for deconstructed fashion at its best //

Ross received the BFC/GQ designer menswear fund award back in June as the brand jumps from strength to strength // well deserved recognition //

not to mention his SS20 show for LFWM was held at well known rave den printworks and open to the public // full of the usual deconstructed streetwear in a mix of earthy tones there was markedly more tailoring than perviously // hinting at things to come //

the rtw collection ‘Chroma’ was a triumph of the minimal && the monochrome with futuristic vibes // few of my fave pieces below //

and some for the girls too //

ludovic de saint sernin ss20

parisian based ex-balmain designer Ludovic de Saint Sernin presented his wet and wild collection at the pompidou centre a couple of weeks back // i must say for someone who mastered the intricacies of OTT embellishment i love the sleek and minimal style of his designs //

only recently dipping into womenswear its lovely to see the full spectrum in his collection // transparent fabrics and the signature eyelet underwear brief from last season made a reappearance // the whole set was like a sexy wet t-shirt competition turned high fashion //

few of my favourite looks below // male sensuality on point //

deserving of the buzz and one to watch for sure //

riri launches FENTY

it was only a matter of time // rihanna pairs up with LVMH to launch fashion brand FENTY // after a successful collab with the likes of puma its nice to see Ri launch her own label on the more luxury end of the spectrum //

needless to say she’s a long-time style icon of mine //

taking a look at the first release lookbook for FENTY it’s plain to see many of what have come to be rihannas trademark styles // oversized tailoring && cinched waists with extra accessories that pop in simple colours //

my actual favourite looks are below // i particularly like the cohesion to the drop and the fact that she hasnt overdone the drop in terms of number of pieces //

the collection is already live online with pop up stores in Paris and one to come in NY in late June // no doubt other major cities around the world will get similar privilege //

it really is new territory for the badgirl entrepreneur and as the first woman of colour to run design for a fashion house at LVMH a historic achievement //

cant wait to see what else riri and FENTY will have in store for us ! //
